Internal Communications for PIs and Participants

MADE in SC Checklist

We are off to a great start and need to keep up the momentum. This message to the MADE in SC participants is regarding the Communication and Dissemination Section of the Strategic Plan. Here’s what we’ve accomplished so far:

Online presence established for MADE in SC on the SC EPSCoR site.
Social media up and running – links to Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. If you have not done so, please like and follow us!
Monthly Scientific Implementation Team (SIT) conference calls are scheduled.
Newsletter established – archive links are located on our website under the News section.
Employment opportunities at USC and USCB posted on the SC EPSCoR website and advertising in the newsletters.

But there is much we need to do, and
we cannot do it without your help!

We have put together a Word document with items from the Strategic Plan that we are required to do. A Status Column shows what’s been done, what’s being done, and what needs to be done. Please help us make the following happen:

Material for the MADE in SC newsletter. We can continue to recycle information from the Strategic Plan, but NSF needs to see new things being done.

Have you completed any of the Year 1 or Year 2 hires? If so, it would be great to do an information piece in the newsletters introducing them.
How’s your research coming? What is it that you want to tell readers to get them excited about your research?
Are you looking for students? Have you hired students?
Are you doing anything with education?

Science Café – we need to get these going. Any ideas of what format/locations you envision these to be like? Do we have any volunteers who are willing to do this?

Do you have any MADE in SC jobs open? Please send the links to the ads so we can include that on the site and newsletters. Have you hired anyone so we can introduce them?

We need to do a quarterly report. Tell us what you are doing that we can include in the report!

And there are other items of business on the Word document.

Volunteers Needed

NSF requires that we submit an annual report detailing all your project related activities and accomplishments. To facilitate collecting the information, we’ve developed a Reporting Portal that you can use to enter information. However, before the Portal is made available to all project participants, we would like to have a few volunteers to test it and provide feedback.

Each volunteer may spend up to 45 minutes on this test and provide feedback early next week. So please let Nadim know by noon on Wednesday, January 31 if you are willing and available to help test the portal.

We realize you are all very busy, and do appreciate any support we can get for this test. Thank you!
